A clear path to your Egypt trip.
From your first idea to your conversation with a guide, here’s what to expect.
How does Egypt by You work?
Start by adding the main experiences you love, then choose any optional extras beneath them. Your trip bag stays at the bottom of the page so you can review your choices anytime. Use Need inspiration to preview eight travel styles and add ideas. Next, choose your trip length, including arrival and departure, and the number of guests. Review what fits, add more time or swap choices, then build your itinerary. Enter your name and email, with an optional phone number, to save your selections and see your day-by-day plan immediately. If you like the plan, use Schedule a guide chat to talk through the details on Zoom. Nothing is booked when you build your itinerary.
How do regional add-ins and pairings work?
Browse by region to see which experiences share a base. Optional regional add-ins include balloon rides in Luxor, felucca sails, food experiences and desert outings. Add them independently or from a main experience card. Specific extras, like a Giza camel ride, stay attached to their main visit. Pairing labels use your selected pace and extras to show when two stops may fit in the same day. Being in the same region does not always mean the same day: different planning areas and longer outings are kept separate. Your guide confirms timing and availability.
Do I need to sign up for marketing emails?
No. Name and email are needed to save and show your itinerary; phone is optional. The separate marketing checkbox is optional and starts unchecked. Your trip works the same whether you opt in or not.
Why does the estimate change after choosing experiences?
While browsing, the subtotal adds the listed experience prices for one adult, plus any party-priced extras once. Next, we apply your adult and child guest counts. At review, we exclude experiences that do not fit your trip length and add private daily transportation and airport or intercity transfers as separate lines. Hotels and plane tickets are never included. You see the full breakdown before saving your itinerary.
Are the prices final?
No. Every listed price is an illustrative USD assumption for planning. Your estimate separates experiences, all-day private transportation, and airport or intercity transfers. Your guide confirms the actual a la carte quote, availability, taxes or fees, and exact inclusions before any reservation.
Can the pyramids and Grand Egyptian Museum fit on the same day?
The planner allows a combined Giza day at a balanced or full pace: about 3.5 hours at each sight plus a local travel and break allowance. At a relaxed pace, it separates the visits. Extra pyramid activities may require another day. Admission availability and your guide’s recommendation determine the final plan.
Why does Luxor add more days?
Luxor is a separate destination from Cairo. The planner sets aside a full travel day between the regions and flags a flight ticket as something you need to book separately. It also groups Luxor’s East Bank and West Bank sights on separate outings.
How is private transportation estimated?
The planner assigns a sedan for 1–3 travelers or a van for 4–8, including children. Larger groups use additional vehicles. Current daily rates are shown on the planner and shared by your party, not charged per person. One full-day charge covers all sightseeing stops on the same day. Free days and dedicated airport or intercity transfer days have no daily vehicle charge. If road transport is already included in all of a day’s experiences, it is not added again. Airport and intercity journeys are itemized separately. Your guide confirms luggage space, child seats, and vehicle arrangements.
Are hotels or flights included?
No hotels or plane tickets are sold or reserved by this site. Your itinerary shows each overnight base and the proposed flight legs. Airport transfers and intercity road transfers appear as separate estimate lines. Confirm your route and flight connections with the guide before buying tickets or reserving accommodation.
What if I choose more than fits in my trip?
Choose as many experiences as you like. The planner fits a practical selection into your chosen number of days, allowing for travel, your pace, and arrival and departure. Other ideas stay in a With more time list and are excluded from the itinerary and price. See how many days the full wishlist needs, add those days, or use Swap into plan to give a different experience priority. You can also edit your wishlist. Your guide reviews the final route.
Can I plan for children or a larger group?
Yes. The estimator supports up to 24 travelers, including at least one adult. Children under 12 have separate assumed rates for per-person experiences; private party rates are shared. Tell your guide the children’s ages so eligibility and activity requirements can be checked. For more than 24 travelers, send a contact request.
What happens after I submit?
Your name, email, optional phone, and selections are saved before your itinerary opens. Keep your private trip link to return to the plan. Choose Schedule a guide chat when you are ready: pick an available day and time from the calendar and confirm your booking. Times are shown in your time zone. If no opening suits you, send preferred times to the team. Building an itinerary does not itself schedule a call.
Does the website create or reserve my Zoom meeting?
The built-in calendar reserves and confirms your chosen day and time. You can download a calendar event and manage your booking from your saved trip page. Your guide adds the Zoom meeting link; the site does not create Zoom rooms or sync with your personal calendar automatically. If you send preferred times instead of choosing an opening, the team will contact you to arrange a time.
Can I add something that is not listed?
Absolutely. Use the notes field when requesting a guide chat, or send us a question. Include special interests, access needs, dietary preferences, occasions, or destinations you want to discuss. Your guide can explore the options with you.
How reliable is the draft itinerary?
It is a geography-based planning proposal. It groups nearby sights, limits daily activity time, and adds travel, arrival, and departure days. It does not check live opening hours, permits, flight schedules, transport availability, or weather. Your guide reviews those details before arrangements are confirmed.
Will I be charged for submitting a trip?
No payment is collected through this site. This is an estimate and consultation request, not a checkout or booking confirmation. You discuss the next steps directly with your guide.
